Behaviour Support for Adolescents

Specialised Behaviour Support for Adolescents

At Spear & Arrow Therapeutic, we understand that adolescence is a time of significant change, important decisions, and increasing independence. Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) helps adolescents build essential skills, confidence, and emotional regulation, supporting positive relationships, learning, and participation in everyday life.

We provide tailored, evidence-based PBS for adolescents, working collaboratively with young people, their families, carers, and educators. Our approach recognises that every adolescent is unique and focuses on skill-building, positive social interactions, and long-term independence aligned with each individual’s strengths and goals.

How We Support Adolescents

Adolescents (12–18 years)

Adolescence is a time of increasing independence, social change, and emotional development. Our Positive Behaviour Support focuses on understanding the behaviours an adolescent is experiencing and building the skills they need to navigate school, relationships, and everyday life. Our PBS specialists complete comprehensive assessments to identify the underlying reasons for behaviours of concern and any skill gaps. We then work collaboratively with adolescents, families, and schools to implement practical strategies that support emotional regulation, decision-making, resilience, and positive social interactions. This approach allows us to support adolescents at different developmental stages without limiting support to age-based expectations.
